Our History
The Protocol School of Washington® has established a tradition of excellence by providing the most comprehensive protocol and etiquette trainings and certification programs available. The school has developed a market presence recognized worldwide as the best in the industry. Dorothea Johnson, founder and chair, was the first etiquette expert to recognize a need for professionally trained etiquette and protocol instructors. She had the foresight in 1986 to conduct research that revealed a basic lack of polish in relatively seasoned professionals and executives. Additionally, there was an expanding global economy that required social skills as a cornerstone of international business. Armed with more than three decades of firsthand experience teaching etiquette and protocol, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a vision, she shaped the growth of the industry. The Protocol School of Washington® is the standard by which others in the industry are judged. Today, Pamela Eyring, the school’s owner and director, continues to build upon the founder’s high quality principles and performance by providing continuous research and educational development for protocol and etiquette professionals worldwide. Leveraging more than two decades of protocol, education and training skills, she blends the two career fields to advance education standards for the rapidly expanding protocol and etiquette industry. Ms. Eyring continues a strong presence on the speaker’s circuit where she shares her expertise with professionals who desire to promote a higher level of business intelligence. What is The Protocol School of Washington®’s formula for success? A commitment to quality. The mission of The Protocol School of Washington® is to provide contemporary, universally accepted protocol and etiquette trainings in the highest professional manner.
